SCOTLAND striker Steven Fletcher's injury woe has struck again after he picked up a calf problem.

The Sunderland player missed the weekend's goal-less draw at Burnley after sustaining the injury during a training session last Friday.

And Black Cats manager Gus Poyet has ruled the £12 million forward out of tonight's Capital One Cup game against Stoke City at the Stadium of Light.

News of Fletcher's latest knock will come as a concern to national team manager Gordon Strachan ahead of next month's Euro 2016 qualifying clashes with Georgia and Poland.

Fletcher, who made an impressive second half substitute appearance in the recent 2-1 loss to world champions Germany, suffered a dislocated shoulder and was hampered by an Achilles problem last term.
