VICTOR WANYAMA'S proposed move to Southampton appears to be back on.
Representatives of the Celtic midfielder were in talks with the Barclays Premier League club last night after a fee of around £12m was agreed by both clubs.
The deal appeared to have collapsed on Sunday night, with the 21-year-old Kenyan failing to agree personal terms. However, the player, who joined the Scottish champions from Beerschot in July 2011 for £900,000, is keen to leave Celtic after two years in Glasgow while there is also interest from newly promoted Cardiff City, who are managed by former Celtic player Malky Mackay.
Neil Lennon, the Celtic manager, has acknowledged he might struggle to keep his top players at the club. In October, Lennon revealed that Wanyama had rejected the offer of a new contract beyond the four-year deal he signed when he arrived at Parkhead.
Meanwhile, Richard Foster is set to hold talks with Rangers over a return to Ibrox on a free transfer.
Foster spent a season on loan with Rangers from his then parent club Aberdeen during season 2010-11, playing in the Champions League under former manager Walter Smith and making 24 appearances in total.
However, he left in 2012 to join Bristol City, who were relegated from the npower Championship last term, but it is understood that Ally McCoist, the Rangers manager, is keen to bring the defender back to Ibrox as he pursues at least two more signings for the club's second division campaign.
One player on his way out of Ibrox, though, is Kane Hemmings who has failed to win a new deal with the third division champions.
"I'm gutted to be leaving the club, but I'm looking forward to a new challenge now," said the English forward, who made his first on-field appearance in the Champions League qualifier against Malmo FF in 2011.
"I need to get games and that's my aim but I'll always keep an eye open for Rangers' results as I love the club and I wish the boys there all the best for the new campaign."
