STEVE LOMAS has called for Scottish football's disciplinary process to be examined after Frazer Wright lost his appeal against a two-match ban for violent conduct against Celtic's Mikael Lustig.

A Scottish Football Association disciplinary panel yesterday upheld the decision by compliance officer Vincent Lunny to refer Wright for elbowing Lustig in Celtic's 4-0 win. Now he will miss St Johnstone's fixture with Motherwell, a game they must win to have any chance of securing a Europa League place.

"We don't believe he was guilty of deliberate intent," said Lomas. "I think we need to have a close look at the citation system and trial by television because we are all seeking consistency. My very real worry is that managers will start flagging-up incidents missed by officials and which might not have been on television. And no one wants that."
