Catriona Matthew moved into a share of fourth place ahead of the final round at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in San Francisco.

The 46-year-old from North Berwick birdied the 18th to sign for a one-under 71 in the third round, having cancelled out two earlier birdies with bogeys on the second and 15th holes.

That was enough to move the former Women's British Open champion into a four-way tie for fourth at five under for the tournament, alongside Brooke Henderson, Gerina Piller and So Yeon Ryu but the Scot will need to make final day push to reel in the frontrunner.

Haru Nomura continued to lead the way, with her round of 71 moving her to 10 under after three rounds.

Lee-Anne Pace and Na Yeon Choi led the chase, tied for second at seven under.
