England's Florentyna Parker shot a five-under-par 67 to take a one stroke lead as the first round of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters was completed on Thursday.

Parker posted seven birdies in her first nine holes on Wednesday before play was suspended due to the tragic death of caddie Maximilian Zechmann.

After returning to the course at Emirates Golf Club, Parker played the front nine in 38 with two birdies, a bogey and a double bogey on the ninth, her 18th.

Frenchwoman Sophie Giquel-Bettan and Cheyenne Woods of the United States were tied for second on four under.

Woods briefly led on six under par despite a bogey on the fourth hole, but a double bogey on the eighth saw her drop behind Parker.
