They may be spread across the various professional tours but Scottish rookies Ross Kellett, David Law, James Byrne and Michael Stewart have been brought back together again in the same sponsorship stable.

Aberdeen Asset Management, the global investment firm which have played a key role in supporting domestic golf at all levels, has bolstered its commitment to the game by providing vital financial assistance to the four prospects as they try to make their marks in the paid ranks.

Byrne is currently plying his trade on the Asian Tour in the Far East while Law, last year's Scottish Amateur champion and winner of the Tartan Tour's Northern Open, is cutting his teeth on the third-tier EPD Tour.

Stewart is hoping to launch his pro career with a series of invitations to the Challenge Tour starting in May while Kellett has already made his mark on the Alps Tour, another developmental circuit in Europe which offers a route up the divisions.

The 24-year-old made the switch into the pro scene last month and secured a fourth place finish on his debut in Morocco. Having watched his fellow Scots, Gavin Dear and Scott Henry, both earn promotion to the Challenge Tour in recent seasons after successful Alps Tour campaigns, Kellett is hoping to follow a similar path.

The European mini-circuits have always been a fertile breeding ground. Martin Kaymer won six times on his native EPD Tour between 2005 and 2006. By 2010, the German had won the US PGA title and, a year later, he had reached No.1 in the world.

"What Martin Kaymer has done shows that these mini-tours can start you off," said Kellett. "If you graft and put the time in you can move up and achieve things. It's also good to see guys I know, like Gavin and Scott, having success on it.

"Aberdeen helped us massively with the Scottish Golf Union as amateurs so for them to come on again and help me and the guys when we are starting off is great.

"We can go out and focus on our golf and not worry about the financial side which is crucial at this early stage of our careers."

Kellett, Law, Stewart and Byrne have now joined a distinguished sponsorship portfolio which includes the former Open champion Paul Lawrie, Colin Montgomerie, Catriona Matthew and Martin Laird.
