A total of 27 athletes will represent Scotland when the London 2012 Paralympic Games officially opens on Wednesday August 29.

Twenty men and seven women are named on a list provided by Scottish Disability Sport, including Aileen McGlynn OBE. 

The 39-year-old cyclist from Paisley, who is visually impaired, already boasts three gold medals from the 2008 and 2004 games in Beijing and Athens. She cites Sir Chris Hoy as her inspiration and will be seeking to emulate his achievements in London, with pilot Fiona Duncan.

8.9%:  of the Paralympics GB team are Scottish.
