Geraint Thomas (Team Sky)

A versatile rider who will be vital to Froome on rolling terrain and mountain-heavy stages alike.

Peter Kennaugh (Team Sky)

Retained his British national road race title last weekend. Will share a similar role to Thomas.

Ian Stannard (Team Sky)

The Classics specialist has won the last two editions of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Will help shepherd Froome through the opening week including the tricky cobbled stage four.

Selected based on a strong showing in Paris-Roubaix, Rowe makes his Tour debut. Like Stannard, he will play a key supporting role to Froome in the first week.

Mark Cavendish (Etixx-QuickStep)

Victorious on 25 Tour de France stages to date. Will be looking to put his 2014 disaster, where he crashed out on the opening day, behind him.

Alex Dowsett (Movistar)

The four-time British time trial champion will assist Movistar's yellow jersey contender Nairo Quintana on the flatter stages.

Steve Cummings (MTN-Qhubeka)

Cummings represents MTN-Qhubeka, the first African team to race in the Tour. Will target the opening day prologue.

Simon Yates (Orica-GreenEdge)

Started the Tour last year, but withdrew on stage 16. He and twin Adam will be on the hunt for stage wins and breakaways.

Adam Yates (Orica-GreenEdge)

Marks his second Grand Tour, having completed the Vuelta a Espana in 2014. The Yates brothers are ones to watch.
