Farah on course after clocking fastest 5000 metres of the year

Mo Farah was delighted with his form after running the fastest 5000 metres in the world this year in his first major race of the Olympic summer.

The world champion won the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene ahead of a strong field, crossing the line in 12min 56.98sec, the second fastest he has run over the distance and less than four seconds off his British record . The 29-year-old left Ethiopian great Kenenisa Bekele trailing in his wake at Sunday's Diamond League meeting in Oregon, the Olympic champion and world record holder for the 5000 and 10000m finishing fourth.
