GLASGOW Rocks have been handed a trip to Scottish League champions Falkirk Fury in the opening round of this season's BBL Trophy.

In the BBL Cup, Sterling Davis' men will at least enjoy home advantage against Leeds Force in the first phase of the competition.

The draws came as the British Basketball League schedule was unveiled yesterday with the season starting earlier than usual, on September 18. The Rocks travel to Worcester Wolves on opening night before hosting Manchester Giants at the Emirates Arena on October 4.

Elsewhere, it has been confirmed that Guildford's BBL franchise has been re-named Surrey Scorchers and Creon Raftopoulos will return as coach.
