GINA AITKEN'S unbeaten run finally ended yesterday, but fellow Scot Bruce Mouat continued his winning ways at the World Junior Championships in Tallinn.

Aitken won her first four round robin matches and was tipped to make it five out of five against Russia's Evgeniya Demkina, but a 5-2 deficit left her too much to do and an excellent final delivery from Uliana Vasilyeva sealed a 7-5 victory for Demkina's team.

Mouat dominated Norwegian Gaute Nepstad from the start, counting four stones at the first end on his way to beating the 2014 bronze medallist 9-2. Like Aitken, Mouat looks well-placed to secure a play-off spot after winning four out of five so far.
