Dame Sarah Storey won a second gold at the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn on Saturday, with victory in the C5 Pursuit giving her an 11th para-cycling track world title.

Storey, who won the C5 500-metre time trial on the opening day of the event, crushed the opposition in the morning qualification session, with her time of 3:39.553 a full 15 seconds ahead of Poland's Anna Harkowska, and come the final Storey made it a formality as she caught the Polish rider in 1250 metres.

"This morning's qualifier was quite grippy really but then it's been grippy for a lot of people," said Storey.

"Times have been a little bit slower that what you would have expected and it was hard work.

"But I found my fire back for the 3K - I started a bit too quick which is something we didn't expect.

"So this afternoon was about trying something a little bit different - going out and trying to hold a schedule for a certain number of laps and then when I could see my opponent then really ramping it up."

Storey, 37, has won every C5 pursuit since the first para-cycling world championships in Aigle, Switzerland in 2006.

However, Britain's Lora Turnham and Lauryn Therin missed out on a medal in the B pursuit, losing to Ireland's Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal by a mere tenth of a second.

Jaco van Gass had to settle for seventh in the C4 pursuit, while Steve Bate and Adam Duggleby were sixth in the B pursuit, posting a new personal best of 4:27.299.
