KOZZA SMITH arrives in Glasgow today for a closed-doors practice session.

The under-pressure Aussie rider has misfired so far for ambitious Glasgow Tigers.

Stewart Dickson, Tigers' team manager, hopes the solo session at Ashfield will get the popular racer back on track.

The move follows Smith's failure in last weekend's double-header against Newcastle Diamonds.

Smith collected only three points at Ashfield on Sunday from four rides in the 52-41 win and only one from three starts in the return in the disappointing 46-43 defeat on Tyneside on Monday.

The former Australian Long Track Champion practiced at King's Lynn Stars on Wednesday and the 27-year-old from Cessnock, New South Wales, is keen for more track time.

Dickson said: "Kozza is recovering from a wrist injury and he needs track time.

"He's coming here for a closed-doors training session on Saturday and we'll see how he goes."

Tigers have a crucial on-the-road, double-header at Sheffield Tigers on Thursday and Plymouth Devils on Friday.

Dickson hopes that the extra track work proves beneficial for the out-of-sorts racer and he said: "I should have our full team at Sheffield and Plymouth and there should be no excuses."

Meanwhile, Tigers' duo, French racer Dimitri Berge and Swedish rider Victor Palovaara, are abroad this weekend in the European under-21 championship.

And Sheffield have confirmed the return of former Glasgow and Berwick Bandits racer David Bellego to their line-up in June despite approaches from rivals clubs.

Bellego was involved in the crash at Rye House which also saw Simon Stead ruled out for the Tigers with Jason Garrity joining as injury cover.

With Ty Proctor now out of the club's plans for 2015 due to visa issues, Bellego will replace of the Australian rider.

A Tigers statement said: "Sheffield Speedway are aware of approaches from other clubs to David Bellego at a time when he was earmarked to return to Owlerton once fit."

On the track, Berwick visit Rye House in the Premier League tomorrow.
