Here are the player ratings for the British and Irish Lions following their emphatic win over Combined Country.
SEAN MAITLAND: The Scotland international ran strongly and aggressively from full-back before switching to wing for the second period. 7/10
ALEX CUTHBERT: Scored his third try of the tour early in the contest, but largely played a watching brief. 7
BRIAN O'DRISCOLL: The Lions skipper increased his try tally on tour to three on what was a routine night's work. 7
JAMIE ROBERTS: Did not get in on the try-scoring act but linked well with O'Driscoll. It is likely to be the first Test midfield partnership. 7
GEORGE NORTH: Scored two exemplary first-half tries, and then made way for Halfpenny as he continues to build powerfully towards the first Test. 8
STUART HOGG: The Scotland full-back stepped in seamlessly at fly-half instead of rested pair Jonathan Sexton and Owen Farrell, and was competent throughout. 8
CONOR MURRAY: The Ireland number nine scored a try, yet he is some way behind Test team headliners Mike Phillips and Ben Youngs. 6
ALEX CORBISIERO: Gained a 50-minute run on his Lions debut just three days after arriving in Australia from England's tour of Argentina. 7
RICHARD HIBBARD: Confirmed that he is in pole position for the Lions Test hooker's spot with another strong display. 7
DAN COLE: A solid effort from the Leicester and England tighthead as the Lions scrum again prospered. 7
RICHIE GRAY: The Scotland lock did not have it all his own way at lineout time against a combative Country XV second-row pairing. 6
IAN EVANS: Challenged strongly on the Country XV's lineout ball, but unlikely to challenge for a Test spot at this stage. 6
SEAN O'BRIEN: A trademark all-action display by the Irish back-row workaholic, but he also made a couple of handling errors. 7
JUSTIN TIPURIC: An outstanding display by the Wales international openside flanker. Could easily play a part in the Test series. 9
JAMIE HEASLIP: Delivered several of his trademark pick-and-drives around the fringes before making way for Toby Faletau. 7
Replacements
Leigh Halfpenny: Scored a try and three conversions after going on at half-time. 7
Alun-Wyn Jones: Worked hard during a 40-minute run, and remains favourite to be Paul O'Connell's second-row Test partner. 6
Ryan Grant: Got his first taste of Lions action after arriving from Scotland's South Africa tour three days ago. 6
Rory Best: Played for the last 30 minutes instead of Hibbard. 6
Matt Stevens: Part of an entire front-row switch early in the second period. 6
Toby Faletau: Took over from Heaslip during a second half when the Lions only fired in patches. 6
Mike Phillips: The last Lions substitute to go on eight minutes from time. 6
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
