Brotherly love will still be a strong force within Scotland's Rugby League World Cup squad despite the withdrawal of Adam Walker's twin brother and fellow prop Jonathan.

As ever, injury for one player represents opportunity for another and, as Walker was being ruled out because of a knee problem, so a shoulder problem suffered by Gareth Moore provided the chance for Callum Phillips to join older brother and clubmate Brett in the squad.

The 21-year-old's inclusion will have additional benefit for the Scottish cause since they could hardly have selected a more popular player locally than Phillips who, in his first year at Workington, picked up their Most Improved Player, Players' Player of the Year and Try of the Season trophies at their recent annual awards.

The diminutive half-back is naturally thrilled by the opportunity, saying: "This time last year I was playing for Seaton against Maryport in the Cumberland League, now I'm going to be in the World Cup. It's unbelievable."

As well as the Phillips brothers another pair of siblings - Andrew Henderson, Scotland's most capped player and brother Ian - will also be lining up alongside one another at the tournament.
