Scotland have been seeded above England in Pool B of the South Africa Sevens in Port Elizabeth this weekend, the third round of this season's HSBC World Series.

The Scots finished ahead of England in Dubai and reached the semi-final of the Bowl, whereas England dropped to the fourth-tier Shield competition.

The two sides are drawn in the same group as New Zealand, who finished as runners-up to Samoa in Dubai, and Fiji, a side beaten unexpectedly by Wales in the Plate semi-final. Those two nations, however, occupy the top positions in the World Series after two rounds, Fiji beating New Zealand in the final in Australia.

The Scots, who have called up Russell Weir to replace scrum-half Alex Glashan, face New Zealand in the opening tie in South Africa on Saturday.
