A teenager appeared in court yesterday charged with the murders of three men whose bodies were discovered in a flat.

Jamie Gray, 16, of Linwood, Renfrewshire, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

The bodies of David Gillespie, 42, Ian Mitchell, 67, and 70-year-old Anthony Coyle were discovered in Dixon Avenue, Govanhill, Glasgow last week.

Jamie Gray is the second teenager to be arrested in connection with the men's deaths. On Monday another 16-year-old, John McAlinden, also from Glasgow, was charged with three counts of murder.

He also made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court, and was remanded.

The bodies of the three men, who all lived in Dixon Avenue, were found in the top-floor property following a 999 call early on October 17.

Last week Edith McAlinden, 37, was charged with the murder of Mr Gillespie when she appeared in private at the same court.

Also from Glasgow, she made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
