A SCOTTISH first division footballer has been charged with committing

a breach of the peace during a league game.

St Johnstone captain Don McVicar, 27, is alleged to have conducted

himself in a disorderly manner while his team were playing a home match

against Partick Thistle at McDiarmid Park on October 28.

He is accused of shouting, swearing and gesticulating in an obscene

manner, all to the alarm, upset and annoyance of the lieges.

Mr McVicar, whose home is in Dundee, was not present when the case was

called at Perth Sheriff Court yesterday, but his lawyer entered a plea

of not guilty and trial was arranged for February 12.

St Johnstone won the match 2-1.
