Alexander Zverev (Germany)

Still a teenager, surely 2017 will see this 6ft 6in German start to fulfil his awesome potential. Has one ATP Tour title to his name already, in St Petersburg last year, where he defeated Tomas Berdych in the semi-final and Stan Wawrinka in the final. Works with Andy Murray's old fitness trainer Jez Green.

Taylor Fritz (USA)

The son of two former tennis professionals, Fritz was awarded the ATP Star of Tomorrow prize in 2016 at the O2 in London. The first American since Donald Young and 2005 and Andy Roddick in 2000 to be named World Junior Champion. Took a set off Stan Wawrinka at Wimbledon last year.

Daniil Medvedev (Russia)

The fast-rising Muscovite, who goes by the charming nickname 'Bear', is no relation to forgotten former World No 4 Andriy. Stands 6ft 6in tall, currently trains in France and already has a final appearance to his name this year, having gone down to Roberto Bautista Agut in the final of Chennai.

Karen Khachanov (Russia)

Age: 20

World Ranking: 51

Another Moscow-born 20-year-old who stands 6ft 6in tall, Khachanov - who is of Armenian descent - won his first ATP Tour title in October in Chengdu. Still lives in Moscow but trains out in Barcelona under the watchful eye of Galo Blanco, who formerly worked with Milos Raonic. Won a silver medal in the 2014 Olympic youth games.

Reilly Opelka (USA)

Age: 19

World Ranking: 207

Part of an emerging American generation which includes Fritz, Francis Tiafoe, Jared Donaldson and Stefan Kozlov, Opelka might just be the tennis player of the future. He stands 6ft 11in tall, and is blessed with good athletic skills as well as a forbidding wing span at the net. The 2015 Junior Wimbledon winner still has to transition to the senior ranks but he is an intriguing player to follow.
