MACDONALD JOHN MACNAIR. Suddenly but peacefully at The Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley on 2nd November 2019, John (chairman of Morrison & Macdonald (Holdings) Ltd, past captain of Ralston Golf Club, member of Pollok Golf Club and past president of Allan Glen's Old Boys Club) beloved husband of Isobel, much loved father of Alasdair and Iain, dear grandpa of John, Richard, Alan, Benjatip and Suvisa and father-in-law to Mina and Lesley. Funeral service to which all are invited at Woodside Crematorium, Paisley on Thursday 14th November at 11.30am.

I first met John a few years ago at an Allan Glen's School Club annual General Meeting. I had just taken over as the Bishopbriggs Lunch Convener and stood up to give my report. When I sat down after my report next to John he thanked me. That was the act of a true gentleman and I shall always remember that moment.
I am sorry that I shall not be at John's funeral, but pass on my condolences to Isobel and the family for their loss of a true gentleman.
He will be a great loss to the School Club

I shall be unable to attend on Thursday as we leave that day for New Zealand. However, I send sincere condolences. I had a regular fourball with John at Pollok on a Tuesday with the late Matt Dickie and Robin Russell, of which I am now the only survivor! John was a true gentleman and will be much missed by Dr Ronald NC Douglas
