John King Livingstone

LIVINGSTONE - John King Born Glasgow, 26th January, 1931 passed away on 22nd February 2021. He will be sadly missed by all. John enlisted in the British Army aged eighteen years and served two years. Whilst studying at Stow College in Glasgow, he was also employed by the Daily Express newspaper, where he and his co-workers implemented the early use of telegraphic transmitted photographs. After graduating from Stow College, John became an electronics engineer, going on to work in Iran, the Persian Gulf, Libya and Liberia. He emigrated to the United States in 1966 where he married Judith Louise Pierce in 1970. He worked for many telecommunications companies throughout his career, including Raytheon, Western Union, RCA, British Telecom and Satellite Gateway. He is survived by Judith and their three children Lara Lee, Paul Livingstone and John Livingstone, eight grandchildren and by his two sisters Mary Campbell of Burnside, Glasgow and Sheila Cresswell of Key Largo, Florida. Memorial service will be held in Cape Cod, USA in August.
