HM Troopship Khedive Ismail Remembering the Officers and the British & African Non-Commissioned Officers & Men of 301st Field Regiment, East African Artillery, and Naval Personnel & Civilians on board HM Troopship Khedive Ismail (1297 souls in total) who were lost at sea through enemy action on 12th February 1944. Also remembering Lewis Mitchell Smith (1913-2008), one of the 214 survivors, and his wife Peggy (Marguerite Kyle) (1915-2015).

    And remembering Wren Norah Munro mother of my husband Howard Munro ( 1945 - 2015 ) who was pulled out of a porthole by a young signalman, Bill Howard but who 5 years later died of injuries sustained during the depth-charging that took place after the Ismail Khedive disappeared below the waves. Below on her wedding day on 25th December 1943.
