Lucie Pohl's talks about her new show, Apohlcalypse Now!

Tell us about your Fringe show

Apohlcalypse Now! is a comedy of terrors about disaster, heart break, heart ache, dead rats, Stephen Baldwin and asking the question if may be an apocalypse is what we all need to start living.

Best thing about the Fringe?

A guy in a monkey suit getting pissed at a clown on a tricycle with a group of Africans on drums walking by. Or in other words: a month of crazy fools running wild!

Worst thing about the Fringe?

Horizontal rain will always be the worst thing about the fringe.

How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

This will be my third year at the fringe.

Favourite Fringe venue?

The one with Lucie Pohl in it. The Gilded Balloon.

Best Fringe memory?

Seeing Eddie Izzard use my flyer to wipe gum off the bottom of his high heels.

Best heckle?

A completely wasted guy from Glasgow that started finishing my sentences out loud. I sat down on his lap, finished his beer and at the end of the show we were best friends. I miss that guy.

Craziest on stage experience?

Performing in Bucharest, Romania with a little girl hiding under her chair in the front row staring at me and a guy in the back reading a book. That was crazy because I was in Romania and because that guy was my boyfriend.

What’s on your rider?

David Hasselhoff's chest hair on toast every morning. Somehow people think that's an outrageous request, I think those people need to understand that an artist needs what an artist needs.

How do you wind down after a show?

What's winding down?

What do you love about Scotland?

The Co-Op on the Isle of Tiree. I say that because it proves that I have been to the Isle Of Tiree which I think is something that will impress Scottish people. It's hard to impress Scottish people. But I'll do what it takes.

What do you like about Edinburgh?

I'm still a big fan of Cockburn Street and the fact that everyone pretends it's not pronounced the way it's spelled.  13 What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?

Skinny dipping on the Isle of Tiree on January 1st. I say that because that is pretty impressive too but it's also true and may be a nice visual for some horny dudes.

What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?

Jokes about the fact that American girls think Scots all have huge shlongs under their kilts..and the fact that I know it's true.

Favourite joke?

Who discovered we could get milk from cows, and what did he THINK he was doing at the time?" Billy Connoly.

Favourite Scottish food/drink?

Baked potatoes with cheese and cheese and more cheese from Take it Away Spud in Stockbridge.

Lucie Pohl's new show, Apohlcalypse Now! will be at the Edinburgh Festival Gilded Balloon – Turret for the month of August for tickets go to
