Broadway smash the Book of Mormon is set for a run in Scotland next year, it has been announced.

The Tony-award winning musical will arrive in Edinburgh next summer for three-weeks of performances at the city’s Playhouse.

The show, which has picked up more than 30 international awards, was written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and has been seen by millions of fans worldwide.

The story follows a pair of Mormon boys sent on a mission to preach the religion to a remote Ugandan village.

The musical has smashed long-standing box office records in New York and London, where it has picked up four Olivier awards and broke the record for the highest single day of sales in West End history.

Tickets for the Edinburgh dates, which run between Wednesday, June 17 and Saturday, July 4 go on sale on Wednesday, November 13 at 10am.
