What is the book about?
The story is focused around an exceptionally intelligent five-year- old girl named Matilda. With a deep hunger for literature and knowledge, she lives with an unappreciative family and at school faces cruel headmistress Miss Trunchbull, but she finds solace in friends and her caring young teacher Miss Honey.
Who is it aimed at?
It is aimed towards a younger audience, for those around the ages of eight or nine to twelve.
What was your favourite part?
The style in which the story was told. Heavy themes with truly awful treatment were brought to life and solved in a productive, heartwarming way.
What was your least favourite?
Some of the references in the book were a little outdated.
Which character would you most like to meet?
Miss Honey, the representation of a kind and supportive teacher always warms my heart.
Why should someone buy this book?
Matilda holds a secure place as a timeless children’s classic that made a huge impact on my generation.
