Lawrie & Symington sold 637 store bullocks in Lanark on Tuesday to a top of 295.1p per kg and an average of 232.5p, while 545 store heifers peaked at 295.5p and levelled at 214.3p.

Craig Wilson sold 1221 prime hoggs in Newton Stewart yesterday to a top of £105.50 per head and 239.3p per kg to average 190.1p.

There were also 170 cast sheep forward that saw ewes sell to £100 for Texels and £69 for Blackfaces.

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers' Mart had 33 prime cattle forward at their weekly sale in Dumfries yesterday, when heifers sold to 251.5p and averaged 229.6p, while bullocks peaked at 250p and levelled at 234.5p.

There were 52 OTM cattle presented in the rough ring when beef cows averaged 147.2p and dairy cows levelled at 125.3p. The firm also sold 780 prime hoggs to a top of £106.50 and 248p to average 198.8p.

The 319 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £130 for a Suffolk and average £74.97, while light ewes peaked at £60.50 for Blackfaces and levelled at £45.07.
