PROSERV, the energy technology services company, has signalled its intention to recruit around 75 staff in Aberdeen and the surrounding area.
The commitment came as the company moved to new headquarters at Arnhall Business Park, Westhill.
Proserv, which employs more than 2000 people at 30 bases in 11 countries, is looking to hire engineers, technicians and apprentices in the North East to meet the demands of a healthy forward order book.
It plans to draft in a total of 150 staff across its operations over the next six months, continuing a recruitment drive which saw the company up its headcount by 25% between 2012 and 2013.
Aberdeenshire-based Proserv said the move to the purpose-built Proserv House, which is more than three times the size if its previous base, will allow it to take on more staff and expand its services at home and abroad.
The new head office, which spans 23,000 square feet and includes offices, conference rooms and training facilities, houses the company's corporate team and support functions for its Europe West Africa (EWA) operation. Proserv is leasing the building.
The company said its sites elsewhere in the North East - at Tullos, Kintore and Birchmoss, Echt - will remain its core engineering and manufacturing bases for the provision of production and sampling, marine technology, and subsea production and drilling controls services.
Chief executive officer David Lamont said: "This moves signifies another milestone in the successful evolution of our company and one that reinforces our rapidly evolving status as a leading energy services company in the marketplace.
"Proserv House provides the additional capability necessary to support an increase in staff numbers and services, as our operations expand both in the UK and internationally.
"With a very healthy order book for the forthcoming year and as we look to launch a number of exciting new tools and technologies to market for the first time, 2014 looks set to be another significant year for the company."
Proserv expects turnover to rise 40% this year to around £269 million, after seeing revenue leap from £112m in 2011 to £196m in 2012.
Mr Lamont was recognised for his part in that growth when he won the private equity backed business category in the Ernst & Young (EY) UK Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 awards.
The executive, who was also named EY Scottish Entrepreneur of the Year, was praised for the firm's acquisition strategy and geographical reach.
In June Proserv acquired Australian subsea engineering company Velocious to reinforce its position in drilling and subsea innovation.
The deal came about six months after Proserv acquired US company Total Instrumentation & Controls. Proserv took on Weatherford's subsea controls subsidiaries during 2012.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
