BIBBY Financial Services has announced it is opening a new office in Glasgow's International Financial Services District, following a year of growth at the invoice finance provider in Scotland.

The branch, based on St Vincent Street, comes after the firm saw client numbers increase by 45 per cent in 2014. The funds made available to customers rose by £4 million to £14m over the period.

Alan Anderson, head of sales at BFS Scotland, said: "Scotland is really leading the way when it comes to small business growth, and establishing our new Glasgow office is an indication of just how much we are investing in the country. We have strong relationships with accountants, brokers and the business community, having first opened an office in Edinburgh fifteen years ago.

"We are now looking at recruiting more staff this year to ensure we can continue to support as many SMEs as possible, the lifeblood of the Scottish economy."
