TOM Vehicle Rental has secured a five-year extension on its exclusive supply contract with Scottish Water. TOM will remain the sole rental supplier of cars, vans, 4x4s and trucks to Scottish Water and its supply partners throughout Scotland, extending a nine-year partnership.
David Love, director of vehicle rental, said: “These are exciting times for TOM and this is a massive boost for us. We’ve established a strong working partnership with Scottish Water through our focus on customer service and innovation and we look forward to developing this further.”
He added: “This contract is widely regarded as one of the most high-profile in the Scottish rental industry and we’re delighted to retain it.”
TOM is based on a 24-acre site at Airdrie and has depots atAberdeen, Nairn, Broxburn, Ayr and Kilmarnock, with a Dundee outlet set to open early in 2016 adding five new jobs to the current headcount of 550.
The company, a finalist in The Herald’s Scottish Family Business Awards in November, says it has invested over £150 million in renewing and upgrading its vehicle fleet over the past 18 months to ensure it can offer its customers the most modern and fuel-efficient vehicles.
Last month TOM won a contract to supply specialist vehicles to ScottishPower.
In its last financial year it grew pre-tax profit by was up 56 per cent to £2.5m and turnover by 45 per cent to £143.1m
