CRAFT beer pioneer Brewdog has today opened a bar in Hong Kong, its second outlet in Asia, as it continues its rapid global expansion.

The Aberdeenshire-based brewer, which already has a bar in the Japanese capital of Tokyo, said that the new outlet in the bustling SoHo district of Hong Kong would offer 14 different draft lines and selected international guest brews.

Brewdog co-founder James Watt said: “Our beers have had the seal of approval in Hong Kong for more than five years, so opening a bar here was an absolute no-brainer.”

Meanwhile, Glasgow-based WEST Brewery flagged its UK-wide launch of a new brand of alcohol-free beer, NIX, which means “nothing” in Bavarian.

WEST, founded by entrepreneur Petra Wetzel, said that it was pitching NIX lager and wheat beer to several supermarket chains.
