PAISLEY-based Clark Contracts has secured a contract to fit out the new offices of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) at 110 Queen Street in Glasgow.

ACCA has taken the last available space at the CONNECT110NS building, joining tenants such as law firm Brodies, Deloitte and Grant Thornton, and will occupy first, second and third floors.

Clark is on site now and aims to finish work on the project in October, with ACCA scheduled to move its 650 employees from its current Glasgow offices at Central Quay and Hydepark Street the following month.

Clark managing director Gordon Cunningham said: “We look forward to completing this high-spec fit out for ACCA. The offices feature large open plan floorplates, providing a great deal of flexibility and we are sure this will provide an enhanced working environment for everyone at ACCA for many years to come.”

The contractor, which is on site now, is manufacturing items such as reception desks, a feature wall and a ceiling from its in-house joinery workshop for the project. The overall design is influenced by ACCA's newly-refurbished London head office in the Adelphi building.

Jan Loyd, head of global business support at ACCA, said: "ACCA has a strong history in Scotland, going back to the 1970s and the relocation to the Queen Street location is an exciting step for ACCA as an international organisation. The space, design and fit out will provide a modern working environment for ACCA staff that’s efficient, effective, making the best use of collaborative work and meeting spaces”.

Located opposite Royal Exchange Square in Glasgow city centre, CONNECT110NS spans 143,000 square feet of office space over eight floors and 19,000 sq ft of ground floor retail space.

It was developed by BAM Properties, which sold it to Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management for £70 million before the building was completed in June of last year.
