EASYJET founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou has announced Glasgweigan entrepreneur Alex Papanikolaou as the winner of the Stelios Award for disabled entrepreneurs 2016.
The awards, held in conjunction with charity Leonard Cheshire Disability, sees Mr Papanikolaou win £30,000 prize money.
His business, Freedom One Life, has developed a next generation power wheelchair, designed to offer a better reliability, performance and support in the power wheelchair market.
Mr Papanikolaou, who has visited more than 40 countries in his power wheelchair, said: “Winning this award is huge recognition that what started as an idea is going to become a reality for thousands of people around the world.”
