A FORMER goalkeeper who spent his career saving shots is now aiming to save businesses by launching a range of corporate health packages in a move designed to help reduce workplace absences.

Ludovic ‘Ludo’ Roy, who made more than 120 appearances for St Mirren, is founder of Ludo’s Primal Wellness, a business that addresses eating habits, daily movement and mind set.

Mr Roy is launching the corporate packages as he moves towards his ambition of opening a wellness centre in Glasgow later this year. He said that his plan can lower absence rates while helping businesses realise their full potential through investing in their staff’s health.

Data from PwC suggests absence costs businesses £29 billion per year, with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development reporting that the average worker misses almost seven days each year through illness.

“It’s widely known that a sedentary, desk based lifestyle doesn’t lend itself to a healthy body and mind, however many of us work in offices,” said Mr Roy. “Back and neck pain and work related stress is crippling our workforces. The Primal Wellness packages I am offering directly address these issues and offer practical solutions. A happy, healthy workforce is a loyal and productive one.”

The wellness packages are delivered in partnership with health care professionals, including doctors, physiotherapists, dieticians and coaches including a range of experts at the Glasgow Medical Rooms.
