THE University of Strathclyde’s Fraser of Allander Institute has agreed a partnership with Deloitte that will see the accountancy firm support the highly-regarded think-tank’s quarterly economic commentary.
Deloitte said the two organisations would also work together on a regular series of studies examining some of Scotland’s key sectors, including oil and gas, financial services, and digital. It added these studies would highlight key trends, opportunities and challenges.
Fraser of Allander's regular economic commentary dates back to 1975.
Graeme Roy, director of Fraser of Allander, said: "This partnership...represents a real vote of confidence in the value of independent economic analysis in Scotland. It’s through partnerships like this that we can help inform public debate and support the next generation of economic researchers."
John Macintosh, tax partner at Deloitte, said: “Economics has seldom been more relevant. Businesses are facing an ever-changing landscape, not only in Scotland but further afield too."
Fraser of Allander’s commentary was in the past supported by accountant PricewaterhouseCoopers.
