THE Glasgow-based digital agency which led the design on the new RBS banknotes has opened an office in Denver as it continues its expansion.
O Street, which also has a London studio, has outlined an ambition to create a network of boutique studios across the world.
“We want to grow out rather than up,” said director and co-founder David Freer. “O Street aspires to create a network of lean studios around the world that can work together—fostering creativity rather than over-saturating one location.”
Having established that US office would be the first to open under this planned strategy of creating studios of six or seven employees, a team from O Street visited a number of American cities, including Denver, Colorado in a trip supported by Scottish Development International.
The trip established a number of potential new business relationships, an introduction to the local creative community, and a few stops at local watering holes. O Street returned to the UK convinced Colorado was not only the place to work, but to live.
Josh Peter, an American citizen who has worked for O Street for three years, is relocating to the city and will be based at shared working space WeWork from this month.
Founded in 2006, O Street works across branding and packaging and has worked with clients such as Google, Spotify and BrewDog, in addition to Royal Bank of Scotland.
Mr Freer said Denver was a natural fit for the studio’s portfolio—with the state of Colorado becoming renowned for technology businesses, startups and course craft beer—all areas where O Street has extensive experience.
