PROCURE Wizard, the Scottish hospitality sector software company founded and majority-owned by William Gorol, has been sold to Access Group.

The price was not disclosed but, given online procurement system developer Procure Wizard has in excess of 25,000 users and more than 200 clients, it seems likely to have been a multi-million-pound deal.

Procure Wizard’s client base includes Patisserie Valerie, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, Bill’s, Le Bistrot Pierre, Drayton Manor Theme Park, Peach Pubs and Company of Cooks.

The software company, based at Loanhead in Midlothian, secured its first client in 2010.

Procure Wizard employs 50 people in the UK, more than 30 of them in Scotland.

All of Procure Wizard’s employees will be retained by acquisitive software group Access, which plans expansion north of the Border on the back of the deal, a spokeswoman for the companies noted.

Mr Gorol, a veteran of the hospitality sector, said: “We are confident that Access is the right partner to take Procure Wizard to the next level. I am delighted to be involved as Procure Wizard embarks on this exciting new phase of growth, and becoming part of the Access Group...offers huge potential for Procure Wizard customers.”

Procure Wizard’s online platform is aimed at enabling hospitality businesses of all sizes to streamline back-office processes, and “deliver measurable cost savings, improved profitability and labour efficiencies”.

The firm’s “purchase to pay” technology is aimed at streamlining procurement practices, improving controls, and automating invoice-processing.

Procure Wizard also offers food, beverage and laundry control solutions, as well as time and attendance, menu engineering and contract management packages, and a scanning solution aimed at enabling operators to capture all of their inbound invoices.
