A STIRLING technology firm that was bought out by Dundee-based Insights Group last year, is ramping up its presence in the Indian market with a view to further international expansion.
Dogfish Mobile, which has today rebranded as Vidatec, is in the process of turning its Mumbai-based development office into a full marketing presence with the intention of doing the same in the US in the near future.
The intention is to see its turnover, which is expected to come in at £3 million for the year to March 2019, triple within three years.
To achieve this the firm, which until now has built bespoke technology for specific clients, will launch its own products and license them to numerous clients.
Among the products built by Dogfish in the past was an app that uses data to help level crossing managers assess, manage and control risk and one that allows visitors to the Legoland Windsor themepark to plan their visit around their personal preferences.
Vidatec chief executive Greig Johnston, who has led the business since moving across from Insights when the Dogfish acquisition closed, said the business would incorporate elements from its bespoke products to create an off-the-shelf version.
“The big HR agenda is about driving engagement in organisations between employees and employers and, with health and wellbeing, we’re looking to build a product later this year that deals with that,” he said.
In addition to hiring a sales manager to bring its product to the Indian market, the business is taking a member of staff from owner Insights’ Austin base to lead its push into the US.
