BUCCLEUCH Property has jointly purchased the Luma building in London for an undisclosed sum.

The development and investment business that represents the commercial property interests of the Duke of Buccleuch, who is one of Scotland's biggest landowners, purchased the Clapham Road building in a joint venture.

The building 25,000sq ft of Grade A office accommodation over seven floors and views of Battersea Power Station and Canary Wharf.

The project has been overseen and managed in conjunction with partner Wren, the UK property specialists and asset managers.

Nick Waugh, of Buccleuch Property, said: "This is one of the most exciting buildings in Clapham and provides an interesting opportunity for companies looking to move up or step into the area.

"It is surrounded by great transport links, amenities and will provide an inspiring workplace due to the generous floor plates and light airy feeling the building offers with great views across London."

Chris White, director at Wrenbridge, said: "We have developed a strong and successful working relationship which will be grown with the acquisition of 330 Clapham Road.

"We have just completed the refurbishment of the reception and look forward to launching the building this month."

Buccleuch Property owns and manages real estate developments worth more than £250 million.

Union Street Partners and PNP Paribas Real Estate have been appointed as agents.

The duke was until last year Scotland's largest landowner with 217,000 acres, when Danish billionaire Anders Holch Povlsen's purchase of another estate took his title deed total to 222,000 acres.
