The Duke of Buccleuch has said that James Galbraith has accepted an invitation to join the Buccleuch board of directors as a non-executive director.

Mr Galbraith was chairman of Galbraith, formerly CKD Galbraith, from its inception in 2003 until 2014. He was brought up near the Buccleuch family home at Bowhill where his father was, for many years, the senior estate factor.

Mr Galbraith said: “I was a mud student in the early 1970s working for Buccleuch on their in-hand farm at Bowhill. It provided me with invaluable experience on which I was able to develop my career.” The Duke said: “I am absolutely delighted that our two families will be linked together once more in looking after Buccleuch.”
