Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 43 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 245p and an average of 214p (-6p on the week), while 15 prime bullocks peaked at 240p and levelled at 204p (N/C).
In the rough ring 35 cast cows sold to top price of £1495 and 165p to average 120p (+1p).
There were also 1082 prime hoggs that sold to £107 and 244p to average 183p (-8p).
The 180 cast sheep forward averaged £71.74 overall with light ewes peaking at £67 for Cheviot ewes and levelled at £55.
The firm also sold 10 prime, beef-bred heifers in Carlisle yesterday to a top of 224.5p/kg and an average of 203p (+10.6p), while 16 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 222.5p and levelled at 201p (-0.6p). Two prime, dairy-bred bullocks sold to 155.5p and averaged 133.5p. 41 prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 224.5p and averaged 195p (+14p), while 40 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 176.5p and levelled at 153.5p (+7p).

There were also 2024 prime hoggs that sold to £120 and 305p/kg to average 179p (-8p).
A small show of cast sheep saw 118 heavy Lowland ewes sell to £105 for Texels and average £71.71, while 28 light ewes peaked at £61.50 for Blackface and levelled at £42.71
Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1961 prime hoggs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £100 per head and 212.5p/kg, to average 175.6p (-9p on the week).
There was also a fair offering of cast sheep when 90 heavy ewes sold to £80 for a pure Suffolk and averaging £64.40, while 233 light/export-type ewes peaked at £53 for Blackfaces and levelled at £43.69.
C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 68 store heifers in Dumfries yesterday to a top of £1155 and 241p/kg to average 196p, while 128 store bullocks peaked at £1195 and 143p to level at 208.5p. Six young bulls sold to £900 and 238p to average 221p.
Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 22 prime, beef-bred heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 250p and an average of 234p (-2p), while 8 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 228p and levelled at 206p (+2p). Seven, B&W bullocks sold to 146p and averaged 136p (-4p).
In the rough ring 30 beef cows averaged 119p (+1p) and 20 dairy cows levelled at 92p (+1p).
A large show of 3325prime hoggs sold to £110 and 261p to average 181p (-7p).
This week 508 heavy ewes sold to £158 for Texels and averaged £83.36, while 660 light/export ewes peaked at £69 for Cheviots and levelled at £47.76.
