Autism in focus

A NEW speaker agency focused on platforming individuals passionate about making positive changes in society will place autism in the spotlight next month.

Edinburgh-based Speaker Buzz, launched last year by Debbie Byers and sister Carol Graham, will stage two events under the strapline: “A conversation with fathers about autism”.

The events will be hosted by broadcaster and author Stuart Cosgrove and communications specialist John Hatfield, who both have autistic sons.

Taking place during Autism Awareness Week, the first will be held at the Glasgow Film Theatre on April 1, followed by a second talk at Whitespace’s Eventspace in Edinburgh on April 3.

Toasting preserve

SCOTTISH firm Perthshire Preserves has overcome global competition to win a gold award at the 14th World’s Original Marmalade Awards. It picked up the prestigious accolade for its Orange Marmalade with Deanston 12-year-old malt whisky in the event’s artisan competition. The producer also took home two silver medals (for its Orange Marmalade with McQueen Sweet Citrus and Pomelo & Rose Marmalade) and a bronze (for its Seville & Quince product).

Paddington Bear would have been proud.
