DIRECTORS of Glasgow-based packaging firm Macfarlane missed out on bonuses last year after the firm fell short of the relevant profit target in spite of achieving strong growth.

Macfarlane grew pre-tax profits by17% annually in 2018, to £10.9million. However, the company’s annual report shows the minimum financial target set for 2018 bonuses was a profit of £11.4 m.

Chief executive Peter Atkinson earned £440,000 total remuneration in 2018 against £514,000 in the preceding year.

Macfarlane’s total boardroom pay bill fell to £817,000 from £909,000.
