Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 63 prime heifers in St Boswells on Monday to a top of 249p and an average of 216p (+7p), while 23 prime bullocks peaked at 232p and levelled at 210p (-4p).
In the rough ring 44 cast cows sold to£1480 and 167p to average 135p (n/c).
There were also 640 prime hoggs that sold to £113 and 218p for Beltex to average 184p (+5p). Nineteen New Season Lambs sold to £110. Top price per kg was 235p for Suffolk crosses and they averaged 232p (+19p).
The 246 cast ewes averaged £70.82 and sold to £129 for Texel ewes. Heavy ewes averaged £87, while light ewes sold to £81 for Cheviot Ewes and averaged £63.
The firm also sold 7 prime heifers in Carlisle on Monday to a top of 223p and an average of 207p (-4p), while 25 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 227p and levelled at 203p (+12p). Fifteen prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 184p and averaged 167p (-14p), while 34 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 174p and levelled at 152p (+8p).
In the rough ring 81 cast beef cows sold to a top of 188p and averaged 138p (-3p), while 148 cast dairy cows sold to 152p and levelled at 111p (+2p).
There were also 237 prime hoggs that sold to £110 and 237p to average 198p (+8p), while 169 New Season Lambs sold to £152 and 323p to average 250p (-6p).
In the cast sheep ring 115 heavy ewes sold to £130 for Beltex and Texels to average £84.97.
Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 827 prime hoggs at Ayr on Monday to a top of £97 and 216p for Beltex to average 190p (-1p), while 54 New Season prime lambs sold to £113 for a Roussin Cross and 260p for a pair of Texels to average 236p overall (+3p).
In the cast sheep section 359 heavy ewes sold to £129 for a Texel and averaged £83.41, while 208 light/export-type ewes peaked at £75 for Cheviots and levelled at £60.77.
Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 115 prime cattle in Lanark on Monday. Prime heifers sold to a top of £1433 and 238p, while prime bullocks peaked at £1424 and 228p. Young prime bulls sold up to £1567 or 204p.
In the rough ring cast beef cows sold to £1500 and 163p, while cast dairy cows made up to £980 and 118p.
A large show of 1283 prime hoggs sold to £120 and 262p for Beltex to average 205p. Thirteen New Season prime lambs sold to £116 for Beltex and 271p for Texels.
In the cast sheep ring heavy ewes sold to £146 for Texels, while light ewes peaked at £69 for Blackfaces.
