Andrew Richardson, director and shareholder of Boë Gin, said: “We’re really proud to be growing our presence in stores throughout Scotland and I’m confident Boë Violet will perform well at Co-op and Scotmid stores across the country.”

Boë Gin last month revealed it had achieved a surge in sales to £8.53 million in the year to February 28, from £1.12m in the prior 12 months.

This propelled its parent company’s profits higher.

Parent company Stiffy’s Shots achieved operating profits of £1.26m in the year to February, up from £128,481 in the 12 months, on the back of Boë Gin’s rapid growth.

Gin accounted for the vast bulk of the turnover of the Throsk-based firm in the 12 months to February, with other sales by Stiffy’s Shots totalling £660,321, down from £916,967 in the prior financial year.

The Boë Gin range also includes the flavoured, full-strength Boë Passion, infused with passion fruit and launched in February, as well as three liqueurs, peach and hibiscus, Scottish bramble, and spiced orange. The other sales of Stiffy’s Shots come from other flavoured liqueurs and ciders, marketed under the Stivy’s brand.

Mr Richardson and fellow directors and shareholders Carlo Valente and Graham Coull are focusing on gin as they target further domestic and international growth of their business, which now employs about 15 staff.
