LINN Products has revealed plans to step up product innovation and move into new markets, writes Scott Wright.

The Scottish hi-fi manufacturer, famed for its Sondek turntable, is powering its ambitions with a new £1 million funding package from Barclays.

The deal will support the development of the firm’s high-end audio products, and comes shortly before Linn debuts an exclusive wireless music system in its flagship Harrods concession in London in October.

Linn managing director Gilad Tiefenbrun, whose father Ivor Tiefenbrun established the firm in 1973, said: “Barclays has been providing Linn with its excellent banking services since early 2017 and, with the additional support of this funding, we also benefit from their commitment to the future of high value Scottish manufacturing.

“The funding has been a welcome boost to our latest product development project and we look forward to its successful launch in October and our continuing good relationship with Barclays.”

Barclay’s Jamie Grant hailed Linn as one of “Scotland’s technology success stories”. He said: This Glasgow-based business has a rich heritage and an exciting future and is exactly the type of manufacturing business we want to work with to support Scotland’s economic growth.”
