A NEW hub for social entrepreneurs, start-ups, charities and small and medium-sized enterprises will open in Edinburgh today.

Montgomery Street Lane will offer business services and advice as well as a focal point for investors targeting enterprises attempting to tackle social challenges. It is a collaboration between Firstport, Challenges Group, Project Scotland and Volunteering Matters.

Josiah Lockhart, chief executive of FirstPort, said: “We’re building an enterprise support network for social entrepreneurs and impact investors, for start-ups and SMEs looking to grow, expand and export. We’re focused on making it a place of optimism, opportunity and outcomes.”
