Following another operator ceasing to serve the Edinburgh & Glasgow-East Midlands routes, Loganair has quickly stepped in to ensure the continuation of these important air services that are so vital to businesses based in each region.
The new Edinburgh service offers up to 4 flights per day from Monday – Friday, 3 on a Sunday and 1 on a Saturday and the Glasgow route will initially provide up to 2 flights per day Monday to Friday and 1 a day Saturday and Sunday, with a build up to 3 per day from early 2020.
Furthermore, the increased frequency on Loganair’s Embraer Jet will be welcome news for corporate travellers looking for greater flexibility during the working week.
Loganair’s customer offering also differs from other regional airlines, and those travelling between the regions in the future should take note; The airline prides itself in being the only UK airline to provide a complimentary hold luggage allowance on its domestic network, with 15kg as standard, plus free in-flight refreshments too!
Loganair have added a significant number of routes to its portfolio of late and also prides itself as an airline now “big enough to provide the all-important dependability, but still small enough to provide a personal service to each and every one of our customers”, says Kay Ryan - Loganair’s Commercial Director.
In testament to the customer-focused nature of the airline, Loganair was awarded one of the industry’s highest accolades for its achievements in 2018, the title ‘European Regional Airline Of The Year’ by the European Region Airlines Association. Loganair was also nominated as a finalist of the Glasgow Evening Times’ “Glasgow’s favourite business award”.
Business travellers should also consider opting for Loganair’s mid-tier “Fly Flex” product, a little extra than the “fly” product but one which includes seat assignment, extra frequent flyer points and more flexibility.
For complete peace of mind, the fully flexible fare “Fly Flex+” is great for those who have a busy and constantly changing schedule. This fare not only gives customers full flexibility to change their flights when they want without any additional cost, but it also gives them the airlines innovative “missed flight protection” option - meaning if you run late, you can change to the next flight for just £60 on the day of travel. It’s also worth noting that this fare includes Airport Lounge access and Fast Track Security at all airport’s.
Irrespective of what fare customers choose for their flight to/from East Midlands with Loganair, everyone is eligible for the airlines rewarding frequent flyer programme, Clan Loganair. Simply sign-up, fly with Loganair, Collect Clan Points and then once you have enough, redeem them for flights.
Clan Loganair is particularly generous too; those flying in “Fly Flex +” require just 5 journeys to get one “Clan Reward Flight” where members only pay taxes for a flight anywhere on the Loganair network. With the beautiful Scottish Highlands and Islands within Loganair’s network, there’s certainly plenty of interesting destinations for which Clan Members can use their points on.
Fares start from £49.99 one-way between Glasgow or Edinburgh- East Midlands and are now available to book at Loganair.co.uk or via your Travel Agent
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
