GARMENT hanger manufacturer Mainetti has unveiled plans to use its Jedburgh plant to make disposable plastic aprons for frontline healthcare and medical workers, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Mainetti has already moved into producing protective face shields for medical and care services at its Jedburgh plant.

It yesterday flagged plans to manufacture more than 300,000 disposable plastic aprons per week, noting these would be produced in line with NHS standards. Mainetti will focus initially on supplying NHS and care home staff and other key workers.
