Energy insight Sir Ian Wood will offer his insight at the launch of a new campaign to accelerate innovation in the UK energy sector next week. Opportunity North East, the development body chaired by the North Sea veteran, Barclays Eagle Labs and CodeBase have joined forces for the EnergyTech project. Sir Ian will be joined at the virtual launch on September 29 by tech analyst Horace Dediu and Open University’s professor of energy Bill Nuttall.
A day in the life Change can be made in the workplace with the best of intentions, whether it is upgrading equipment or introducing new systems to improve efficiency. But change can also, unintentionally, have a negative impact of culture.
With that in mind, a new cartoon, A Day in the Life of Doris, has been created by business consultancy MaxCap to help make managers and employees aware of such pitfalls. According to MaxCap, the cartoon “demonstrates how a few proactive changes in general working practices, made by an employer, can help to dramatically improve their employees work-life balance and support a positive mental health environment.”
With the added pressure brought by coronavirus, it sounds like a timely intervention.
