ROB Woodward, the former chief executive of STV, has joined the board of OneWeb, the taxpayer-backed satellite network.

Mr Woodward, will represent the UK Government as non-executive director following its acquisition of a stake in the company in November. He was appointed by Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng.

Mr Woodward said OneWeb is an "exciting global technology business with huge growth potential and I look forward to working alongside the excellent array of international investors and in particular to supporting the executive and UK Government in maximising the value potential of the company.”
